The Bible tells us:

"The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen." (Job 37:10)

Also from the Prophecy of Daniel 3:69-70:

"Frost and cold, bless the Lord: give glory and eternal praise to Him."

"Ice and snow, bless the Lord: give glory and eternal praise to Him."

From the Canticle of the Three Holy Children, Hananiah, Araziah, and Mishael

(a.k.a. "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego" in the language of their captors),

which they sang from the midst of the Fiery Furnace in praise of the Lord.

And it is same pond from which the Theophany Ice Cross was cut!

Church then Skating!

Could you have any more fun?

First, we shovel off the snow...

Shovel off the pond? "We"? Ouch! Just hang on thar partner... Are there no "Child Labour" laws enforced in Brampton?

Speaking of enforcing Child Labour....

Here our very own "Enforcer", "Mr. Z".

Don't mess with him!

Boys and Girls, can you say: "Please sir, can I have some more..."

Actually this is one of the parents, making sure everyone is safe and having a good time.

His real moniker is "Xe54" and he's a real gas!

Apparently, any time's a good time for a quick Poklon! Hey, who's up for the Little Canon of St. Andrew!

In Job 38:28-30, the Bible tells us about the Creator of all this winter wonders, asking:

Does the rain have a father?

Who fathers the drops of dew?

From whose womb comes the ice?

Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens

when the waters become hard as stone,

when the surface of the deep is frozen?

Our Children don't make snow forts.

They make snow Poustynyks!

And here's the onion domed Banya!

Ok, maybe it's just a snowman (snow-mensch?).

But, if you ask me, it has a striking similarity to St. Herman of Alaska....

Coincidence?

Faster than a speeding bullet...

Move over, Rocket Richard!

Even the clergy come out for a couple of laps

There are strange things done in the midnight sun....

More Fun than Homework and 'way better than a Nap (... if you're a kid)

The smiles say it all...

"Priests, bless the Lord: give glory and eternal praise to Him."

"Servants of the Lord, bless the Lord: give glory and eternal praise to Him."

(Daniel 3:84-85)
