There has been an increase in mothers and young children arriving alone from Ukraine. Many have no freinds or family in Canada. and their temporary accommodation options are expiring. If you can offer help or a (rent free) safe place for these vulnerable families please call the parish office.

Зросла кількість матерів і маленьких дітей, які прибувають з України поодинці. Багато хто не має друзів або родини в Канаді. Термін дії варіантів тимчасового житла закінчується. Якщо ви можете запропонувати допомогу або (безкоштовно) безпечне місце для цих вразливих сімей, будь ласка, зателефонуйте до парафіяльного офісу.

ETERNAL MEMORY + FR. CHRISTOPHER ADLER
It was with great sadness that we received the news of the repose of: +FR. CHRISTOPHER ADLER (Pere Christophe to his parishioners in France). Before he entered the seminary and ordained to the priesthood in France, Fr. Christopher was a part of our community here at St. Elias as far back as the late 1980s on McLaughlin Rd. He prayed with us at Vespers, and joined us for many a Christmas, and Easter. Those who knew him will never forget his angelic tenor voice. Christopher's influence on our singing here was undeniable. He had a way of convincing Fr. Roman to do things he wouldn’t otherwise do and driving him crazy from he very back seat of the "carolling van". He made us laugh so much. One year, at the old rectory on Harold St after Easter Sunday Agape vespers, a boisterous singalong of Ukrainian Christmas carols erupted, led by Christopher Adler. He knew them all by heart. The next time you hear “Spas Nash Narodyvsia” and hear us holding the ‘Slava/Gloria’ waaay too long (along with a giggle), know that it was started by Christopher. Below is the link to his funeral service in France. It is very clear from the attendance and tributes at the funeral service that Fr. Christopher was a fine priest and as well-loved by his French parishioners as by his St Elias friends. On behalf of the parish we offer sincerest condolences to Fr. Christopher's mother

and his entire family. Vichnaya Pamyat’ Christopher… the klyros in heaven has its tenor.
