UPDATE JANUARY 30th 2023

NEW NEEDS for NEW ARRIVALS: 

Apartments to rent:  March 1st, for 2 young women working in Brampton

A 3 bedroom house or apartment in Georgetown for a family of 6. 

Also, a used car (6-seater) for purchase by same family in Georgetown. 

Always in demand in the GTA: short-term host families, rental units (1-3 bedrooms), used cars (reasonably priced), and jobs.

 

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 25th

NEEDED NOW- new, gently used, clean outerwear for children, teens and adults. If you have items to donate they can be dropped off on weekends or call ahead during the week. Also welcome are gift cards for our families to use.

Boots, winter coats, jackets, hats, mitts, scarves are needed.

We kindly ask that the items are new or almost new and laundered/clean. If you wouldn’t wear them yourself please recycle items elsewhere.

The following organizations have been identified by the Eparchial Co-Ordination team as trustworthy and will get money to the organizations they support. This list is in addition to the boxes in blue on your right. We cannot accept clothing donations at this time. When the need arises we will send out a call. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

HELP UKRAINE - WHERE TO GIVE AND HOW TO HELP – Our eparchial coordination team offers these guidelines:  (all but last one are tax receitable)

•       Aid to Church in Need. 85% goes to areas of greatest need, 15% for administrative purposes. https://acn-canada.org 


•       Chalice Canada. Approximately 90% goes to areas of greatest need, 10% used for administrative and other purposes. https://www.chalice.ca

  2. St. Elias church is open for prayer + every night Vespers.

  3. The situation changes daily as do needs. Please stay tuned as there will be many ways to help in the future.

  4. Send encouraging messages on the Social media accounts of our church leaders who are protecting their people. Watch+ comment on these videos from Patriarch Sviatoslav.

  5. Pray for the change of heart of the aggressors.
