Sunday Bulletin  FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners,  Sunday is still the Lord’s Day. What are you doing to honour it? Шановні парафіяни, Hеділя - це все-таки День Господа. Що ви все робите, щоб його шанувати? Praying inside the church Parishioners are reminded that present restrictions on numbers in church are generous. We are rarely at capacity, because the outside is so nice and the weather is good. Perhaps when you see people outside you think the inside is full? It's probably not. Please don't hesitate to check... if you are healthy come up to the front door- sign our log book and put on a mask. There is usually room up front or you will be shown to your place.  That's  it- simple. Yes- seating is still available for those who need it.  Praying outside On the porch, in the courtyard, with social distancing, we can accommodate many more those who cannot be inside.  This is a Goddsend for parents with young children and those who are concerned with being inside. Don't take this opportunity for granted. Something to think about If you generally go about the rest of your life grocery shopping, having patio drinks or getting haircuts you can definitely come to church. Concerned about crowds? Come to Vespers or Matins- no crowds.. Do not take for granted our set up. Take advantage the great weather,  loosened restrictions and generally good reductions in covid cases- start making church services a part of your routine again. Tell your friends.  Note: Those who are sick, immunocompromised, take care of elderly or are at risk must take good care of themselves and are therefore exempted from attending church in person. Pray the Typica or join us on line until you can come to church again. Please call the parish office if you wish to visit the church on your own or explore alternative options.  More questions? Everyday, your donations arrive in the mail and electronically. Your generosity is appreciated now more than ever. Thank You for donating your time, talent or treasure and most importantly thank you for staying connected to your parish. Thank you to the parishioners who continue to support the parish during this time-dropping off, e-transferring and sending regular donations. For many this is a difficult time financially and so your time, talent and prayers are enough. However.  if you have the means please don't forget the needs of the parish. Recently, it has become customary to perform the rite of burial of the Mother of God on the holiday itself in the evening or evening of August 16. If you haven't had a chance to attend any of the Dormition services - please come.  Read more in the bulletin.    FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners,  Sunday is still the Lord’s Day. This past week work was done around the pond by the same team that had worked on the foundations of our church 6 years ago. Since a number of large rocks were still lying around on the property they were asked to return and place them around half of the pond. This was done this past week with pleasing results. Supervise your children when near the pond.    MORE. At the same time, the storage bin was moved to behind the garage and two culverts were installed permitting access over the ditch to our wood lot. Some clean up is still required, along with seeding (sod?) this fall.  Volunteers are needed. Overall, for those who have been away, a pleasant surprise when you return…. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for  groundskeeping and weeding.. anytime. Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God

Do not be negligent of your Christian obligations. Attend some or all of the above mentioned services below. Let us gather, as did the Apostles in Gethsemane, and fittingly pay our respects at the funeral services our Mother, the Lady Theotokos! Не будьте недбалі до своїх християнських зобов’язань. Зберемось, як це зробили апостоли в Гефсиманії, і належним чином віддячимо похоронними послугами нашої Матері, Дами Богородиці!   THE SERVICES Friday August 14th Eve of the Dormition Vigil (Vespers+Matins+1st Hour) 7pm The Vigil Service. We begin the feast on the eve. The service consists of Vespers and Matins with blessing of the loaves, carrying forth of the icon, and anointing. Come for part or all of the service. Saturday August 15th Feast of the Dormition Divine Liturgy (bring flowers to bless at Liturgy 9:30 am Hours / 10am Liturgy The main liturgical celebration of the feast. All are strongly encouraged to attend - bring your children! Bring flowers and herbs for blessing. Sunday August 16th Praises at the Tomb of The Mother Of God  (with Matins)  7 pm The Praises at the Tomb. This unique and beautiful service is similar to Jerusalem Matins of Holy Saturday. We gather around the shroud of the Theot- okos and praise our Holy Mother. A procession with the shroud takes place at dusk. If for good reason you cannot get to church for the above services - this is your chance to pay your respects to “the Mother of Life”.
