Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

In exercising my responsibility to care for the People of God of the Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada, having consulted with the College of Eparchial Consultors in accordance with canon law, as Apostolic Administrator I have issued decrees for a number of pastoral assignments, affecting five parishes in three deaneries of our Eparchy. These assignments include:

1. The appointment of Father Jaroslav Lazoryk, as pastor of St. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church (St. Catharines, ON)

2. The appointment of Father Bohdan Choly, as pastor of The Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection (Toronto, ON)

3. The appointment of Father Michael Hayes, as parochial administrator of Nativity of the Holy Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). For the time being he will remain administrator of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church (Kenora, ON) and

   .

The changes will take effect on October 12.

Pastoral moves are never easy, especially when a parish community is parting with someone who has been its spiritual leader for a generation. But change is also a time for new beginnings and growth. It is an opportunity for a new sharing of gifts and talents in the Church. We know that in the weeks to come our faithful will find a way to express their gratitude to the priests who are moving to a new assignment. We hope that our faithful will also receive their new spiritual leaders with excitement and open hearts. And we ask our entire Eparchy to keep Fathers Jaroslav, Bohdan and Michael, as well as their respective communities in their fervent prayers.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all!

Дорогі в Христі Браття і Сестри!

Як Апостольський Адміністратор, в моїй відповідальності за добро Божого Люду Єпархії Торонта й Східної Канади, порадившись із Колегією Єпархіяльних Консульторів відповідно до вимог канонічного права, я підписав кілька декретів душпастирського характеру, які торкають п’ять парафій та три деканати нашої Єпархії. До цих декретів входять:

1. Призначення о. Ярослава Лазорика парохом Української Католицької Церкви Свв. Кирила і Методія (Сейнт Катаринз, Онтаріо),

2. Призначення о. Богдана Чолія парохом Української Католицької Церкви Покрова Пресвятої Богородиці (Торонто, Онтаріо),

3. Призначення о. Майкела Гейза пaрaфiяльним адміністратором Української Католицької Церкви Різдва Пресвятої Богородиці (Су Сейнт Марі, Онтаріо). Під сучасну пору він залишається адміністратором Української Католицької Церкви св. Миколая (Кенора, Онтаріо) та Української Католицької Церкви Покрова Пресвятої Богородиці (Ред Лейк, Онтаріо).

Зміни входитимуть в дію 12-го жовтня.

Проводити душпастирські зміни ніколи не є легко, особливо коли парафіяльна спільнота прощається з людиною, яка була її духовним провідником ціле покоління. Але зміна є також час для нових починань та зросту. Це нагода для нового обміну дарів та талантів у Церкві. Ми знаємо, що в наступних тижнях наші вірні знайдуть спосіб висловити свою вдячність отцям, які відходять на нове душпастирство. Ми надіємось, що наші вірні також приймуть своїх нових духовних провідників з ентузіазмом та відкритими серцями. Та ми просимо цілу нашу Єпархію підтримувати отців Ярослава, Богдана і Майкела, та їхні парафіяльні спільноти своїми молитвами.

Благодать Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, любов Бога і Отця, і причастя Святого Духа, нехай буде з усіма Вами!

At the time of this publication there is room for about 10 people.
