Heath Update #5
Dear Parishioners & Friends,
This week was full of family visits and further changes. Fr. Roman was so pleased to see a full church and parking lot on Sunday and received much comfort from his special guest, Metropolitan Borys. (see photo below). He was finally able to move from sleeping in a recliner to a bed, where he is much more comfortable. If you know Fr. Roman's epic napping habits you know this is a really good thing. These were the highlights.
Visits from the nurse are daily and our doctor even made a house call. There will be no more treatments, so the focus now is comfort and conservation of energy. Visits (both personal and phone) have become increasingly draining, thus we need to severely limit visitors, giving the opportunity to immediate family members arriving this week.
We can tell from the many calls and emails coming in that you are anxious to keep close tabs on how Father is doing. We feel your care and love, and will send more frequent updates. Please forgive us if we cannot answer the phone or respond to emails. If visiting becomes possible once again, we will let you know. Until then, watch for the updates.
Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers for Fr. Roman and our family. They sustain us as we manage this new challenge in our life.

Дороги парафіяни та друзі,
Цей тиждень був насичений сімейними візитами та подальшими змінами. О. Роман був дуже радий побачити повну парковку в неділю та отримав велику потіху від свого спеціального гостя, митрополита Бориса. Нарешті він зміг перейти від сну в кріслі до ліжка, де йому набагато комфортніше. Якщо ви всі знаєте, що o.Roman надзвичайно талановитий щодо звичок сну, ви знаєте, що це справді добре. Це були основні моменти.
Відвідини медсестри щоденні, і наша Лікарка теж була в нас вдома особисто. Лікування більше не буде, тому зараз у центрі уваги – комфорт та збереження енергії. Відвідування (як особисті, так і телефонні) стали все більше виснажувати, тому нам потрібно суттєво обмежити відвідування, даючи можливість найближчим членам родини, які прибудуть цього тижня.
З багатьох дзвінків і електронних листів, які надходять, ми можемо зрозуміти, що ви прагнете уважно стежити за тим, як о. Роман почувається. Ми відчуваємо вашу турботу та любов і надсилатимемо оновлення частіше. Будь ласка, вибачте нас, якщо ми не можемо відповісти на дзвінки чи електронні листи. Якщо візит знову стане можливим, ми повідомимо вас. До того часу слідкуйте за оновленнями.
Дякуємо за ваші постійні молитви за о. Романa і нашy родинy. Вони підтримують нас, коли ми справляємося з цими новими викликами нашого життя.

Heath Update #4- with special note regarding e-mail address change
Good news this week! Father Roman's pain is now well under control and he is able to sleep and move more comfortably. He was very pleased to attend festal Vespers and Divine Liturgy for the feast of Saint Elias on Wednesday and Thursday, and enjoyed watching the children's production of the life of Saint Elias in the Parish Hall afterwards.
This weekend he welcomed the arrival of many special guests, notably Metropolitan Borys Gudziak, as well as close family members and others gathering for the parish Praznyk on today.
During this time of increased activity, it remains important for Father to rest and recover from his treatment as much as possible. We are therefore counting on your understanding and cooperation when we ask that visits be arranged ahead of time and be limited until after the rush of the weekend. Phone calls are welcome!
Father Roman looks forward to praying with you (every morning he wakes up hoping that it is Sunday!), and waving at visitors from his favourite perch in front of the house. Please watch for him and wave back!
Another update will be sent next Friday.

Гарні новини цього тижня! Тепер біль у отця Романа добре контрольований, він може спокійніше спати та рухатися. Він був дуже радий бути присутнім на святковій Вечірні та Божественній Літургії на свято святого Іллі в середу та четвер, а потім із задоволенням дивився дитячу постановку житія святого Іллі в парафіяльній залі.
Цими вихідними він привітав прибуття багатьох спеціальних гостей, зокрема Митрополита Бориса Ґудзяка, а також близьких членів родини та інших, які сьогодні зібралися на парафіяльний Празник.
Протягом цього періоду підвищеної активності для батька важливо якомога більше відпочивати та відновлюватися після лікування. Тому ми розраховуємо на ваше розуміння та співпрацю, коли просимо організовувати візити завчасно та обмежити їх до закінчення вихідних. Телефонні дзвінки вітаються!
Отець Роман з нетерпінням чекає, щоб разом з вами помолитися (щоранку він прокидається з надією, що сьогодні неділя!), і помахати відвідувачам зі свого улюбленого місця перед будинком. Будь ласка, стежте за ним і помахайте у відповідь!
